This traditionally Malay enclave of Singapore offers an alluring array of shops, cafes, and bars. A walk down Haji Lane offers quirky shopping, while one block over, Arab Street is a treasure trove of brightly colored fabrics, clothing, and Turkish rugs. Stop for a leisurely coffee or cocktail and watch local kids play traditional games along the lane.

The thing I love most about Orchids is the cleanliness of the dishes. The meals are not drenched in oil and over saturated, yet I still feel very full at the end of dinner. Got the red curry chicken and ordered "Spicy Hot", not expecting much, heat-wise. Was pleasantly surprised to find it substantially hot, and included a touch of habanero--quite delicious if you ask me.

Dish was great, but could have used a touch more basil in my opinion. Would definitely order again and will happily do so my next visit to this area!

About This Item

Only one girl working there and she tends to have a one-track mind, so just patiently wait your turn she won't get to it, so go ahead and stop her anyway. This got quite frustrating and would definitely STOP me from eating there again if the dish wasn't so deliciously hot. This small restaurant is easy to find, quiet and relaxing, and most of all the food is amazing. Everything is made to order from the freshest ingredients and the prices are very reasonable considering the quality of the food.

Bring your patience because the food is slow to come out however, when you taste it you'll understand the wait times. We dine out quite a bit and this has been one of our favorites places for many years.

Because the food has always been wonderful, I finally decided to take a cooking class along with a couple of friends of mine.

Small restaurant in strip mall about 12 miles west of Atlantic City. Fish also prepared well and not overdone, rubbery, or dry. Skip the few continental dishes which are more like the typical Chinese restaurants. We've been coming to Orchids for the past 6 years atleast They have the best pad thai, grilled beef salad and many fresh fish dishes. They also have a great thai iced tea and wonderful coconut ice cream as well as other desserts that are excellent!
